A stranger’s hand clutched in mine, and yet they say I am thine
Today in marriage we are bound, with vermilion I am crowned
Today we become husband and wife, this is the start of our new life
Today just our hands meet, slowly our hearts will learn to greet
Let’s understand, learn and discover, before you become my lover
Let’s you and I become ‘Us’, and take the journey further thus
No longer a stranger’s hand I clutch, I am familiar with his gentle touch
Time and compassion will bring that day, when I will be able to truly say,
My husband’s hand clutched in mine, and now I am truly thine.
